November 9, 2017, Toronto, ON – Webcom is proud to win the Bronze award at the 2017 Canadian Printing Awards in the digital printing category. We would like to acknowledge our fantastic Webcom team for producing the award-winning book as well as congratulate all companies who submitted books and received awards this past week. More than 200 people attended the awards gala organized by PrintAction magazine at the Palais Royal in Toronto held on November 9, 2017.

The 2017 Canadian Printing Awards program is divided into four distinct sections, including Printing, Technology and Environmental categories, in addition to Industry Achievement Awards presented to four individuals who have made significant contributions to the industry.

The printing category awards are determined by an independent panel of judges comprised this year of six industry experts, who spent a full day analyzing and ranking the entries through a blind scoring system. The judges consider issues like technical achievement, printing process, run length and repeatability across submitted samples.

The 2017 Best of Show Award, chosen from among all printing category entries, went to Friesens Corp. of Altona, Manitoba, for its production of the hardcover book Canada 150th Anniversary, Through Ottawa. The book was produced in a 10,000-piece run on a 4-colour, 50-inch Manroland (text) and a 6-colour, 40-inch Heidelberg (cover).
