The Drive for Literacy

As a company involved in the Canadian book industry and one that fosters a spirit of community support, it’s not surprising that Webcom employees celebrated Canada Book Day with a book drive for literacy. Over 120 used books suitable for all reading levels were collected from employees. The books were forwarded to Frontier College, a Canada-wide, volunteer-based literacy organization based in Toronto. Frontier College distributes books to people in remote areas, or those who haven’t the resources to acquire books for themselves.

At Webcom, we’re pleased to be part of the movement to bring literacy to all Canadians and to have received the following acknowledgement from Dave Page, Family Literary Coordinator for Frontier College:

"On behalf of Frontier College, an enormous amount of thanks to you and your colleagues at Webcom Limited for organizing your book-drive, and for shipping the books to our head office. This is a wonderful collection of books for both children and adults. The impact of this donation is immense."
