CREATING POSTSCRIPT FILES FROM QUARKXPRESS 4.0 FOR PC

Step 1
Select the Linotronic driver, or similar high-end imagesetter driver such as Agfa Proset or Acrobat Distiller.

Step 2

1. On the Document tab, select Include Blank Pages.
2. Turn Registration to Centered.
3. Change the Offset to 30 pt.
4. Set Bleed to 3/16".
5. All other options should be off (See Figure 1).

1. On the Setup tab, for Printer Description select Prinergy Refiner or Acrobat Distiller if you have it (see Figure 2).
2. The Paper Width should be 1" wider than the width of your document.

1. On the Output tab, set Print Colours to Composite CMYK.
2. Set the resolution to 2400 dpi.
3. Set the frequency to 120 lpi (see Figure 3).

1. Select the Options tab.
2. For Pictures, set Output to Normal.
3. Set Data to ASCII.
4. Set OPI to Include Images.
5. Select Full Resolution TIFF Output (see Figure 4).

1. Select the Properties for the driver and ensure that under the PostScript tab, the PostScript format has been set to optimize for portability - ADSC.
2. Make the final PostScript file. It will prompt you for a file name and a location to save the file.
