CREATING A DIGITAL FILE: Details

ACCEPTED FILE FORMATS

Application File Formats Supported by Webcom

Accepted File FormatsAs previously stated, PostScript files for the text portion of your job and application files for covers will ensure a more efficient prepress process.

Please note that as new versions of software are released there is a brief testing period before we can support them. Please call if you are unsure as to whether or not we support the version you are using.

While both application files and PostScript files are accepted, supplying PostScript for text and application files for your cover will ensure smooth and stable processing through the all-digital prepress system. By supplying application files for your covers, we can easily make adjustments to the spine width, as necessary. All fonts and images should be in place and the file should be saved to conform to Adobe Document Structuring Conventions (DSC). Before converting to PostScript please refer the sections on creating PostScript files (CREATING POSTSCRIPT FILES - Print Driver Setup, CREATING POSTSCRIPT FILES - Applications) or call your Webcom Sales Representative. Your Webcom Representative will put you in touch with a prepress customer support specialist who will instruct you on the best way to save your file. It’s very important that you save your files in a consistent format to ensure that you receive the full benefits of our CTP system.
