OVERVIEW

At Webcom we run your file through a series of processes to make them print ready and to ensure the best output quality. These processes include: trapping, imposition, cover proofing, text proofing and outputting directly to printing plates or to our digital press. Webcom also provides additional prepress services such as file revisions and scanning.

Upon submission, files are checked for missing fonts, corrupt fonts, missing or low resolution images, incorrect colour usage and basic layout elements as required for the manufacturing process.

Please note that we do not check every page of your document. It is important to ensure the integrity of your documents before they are submitted for processing and to remember that the ultimate responsibility rests with the creator of the files.

The extent to which Webcom supports customers with file preparation for each project can vary. For some, it is common for our Prepress team to provide a value-added service by making revisions to submitted files. Others prefer to submit files that are 100% ready for print production, in the interest of workflow efficiency and cost savings.

We are prepared to support your Prepress needs to whatever extent you require. In so doing, we have established a pricing structure designed to deliver the most cost-effective scenario. Pricing is based on the assumption that you will provide 100% complete files in order to keep your costs to a minimum. If revisions to your files are required, we will make these revisions for an additional charge, up to the maximum indicated on your estimate, without delay or interruption of your project. If your job requires more extensive attention, you will be notified by our Project Manager who will confirm the extent of the extra work and help plan a revised delivery schedule.

With the help of our business systems, and working closely with the Prepress team, we have developed a checklist of items that contribute to a file being less than 100% complete.
