Environmental Commitment Takes Hold
For more than thirty years, Webcom has built a reputation for providing our customers with innovative solutions to their challenges of printing books, catalogs and directories. From the start we have employed new technologies to help drive our customers’ business – producing quality books, quickly and efficiently. The breadth of our services from initial planning and prepress to binding and distribution benefit a diverse range of publishers and businesses across North America.

Webcom made a commitment early-on to reduce resource energy requirements, waste material, air and water pollution and consequently received two awards from the Recycling Council of Ontario. Eco-friendly practices extended into the creation of Webcom’s unique Legacy brand of recycled paper in 2001. By the end of 2007 total usage of recycled paper was more than double the industry average – perhaps not surprising considering half of Webcom’s inventory list consists of Legacy grades.

Capabilities
Our definition of a better book includes not only the final product but everything that goes into making it. It’s a philosophy that can be summed up in a single word: efficiency. We apply whatever process or technology makes the most sense for the specific needs of the book production project. That can mean either digital on-demand or conventional offset printing. Our web presses enable fast set-up and minimal paper waste. Our award-winning four-colour printing uses coldset process to avoid harmful VOCs while still providing customers with a competitive edge.

Customer-focused Service
We have become an award-winning book manufacturer by understanding and addressing the unique needs of our customers and their end-users. Dedicated specialists work with customers to manage every step of a project with varying levels of complexity. We regularly accommodate unique schedules. Our world-class POEM production planning information system harmonizes all components and provides real-time information for planning and decision making.
