Knowing your customers Most of us know our customers through our accounting systems, or possibly from a sales database - often maintained by an individual rep for their territory. But we really don't know our customers that well. We don't know how profitable a customer is, or could be. We can't segment our customers, or use customer profiles for developing new business. And we are very limited in our ability to build relationships with our customers using newer technology such as e-mail and customer Web portals. Welcome to Customer Relationship Management - or as it is more commonly called CRM. CRM is a new business practice that is allowing companies to increase sales and profitability, develop new markets and services, and reduce costs. "CRM is a business strategy aimed at anticipating, understanding and responding to the needs of an enterprise's current and potential customers. CRM involves: capturing customer data from across the enterprise; consolidating all internally and externally acquired customer-related data; distributing the results of the analysis to various constituents of the extended enterprise; and using that information when dealing with the customer." - Gartner Hundreds of successful companies, such as DuPont, Marriot, FedEx, and Honeywell are taking advantage of CRM. Now you can too. It's easy to get started - all you need to do is start collecting some information on your customers. That's where we come in. Our CRM tools make it easy for you to start managing your customers more effectively and your business more profitability.
