January 2003: Webcom Ltd. Launches Web-based Content Management System from ObjectPublisher®
Webcom is pleased to announce its strategic partnership with Object Publisher Inc., a leading software developer of content management technologies designed for business-to-business catalog marketers. Today's business users have an ever-increasing diversity of product information, and companies need ways of easily managing, editing, accessing and publishing that information to both web and print. Together, Webcom and ObjectPublisher offer web-centric content management, 100% automated creation of custom on-demand catalogs, complete digital print and web-offset print manufacturing capabilities in one end-to-end solution. This partnership enhances Webcom’s commitment to delivering complete, single-source publishing solutions to its customers.
The software suite comprises three components: FreeDesign Studio, CMSEditor and Catalog-on-Demand. Brief descriptions of these components follow:
- FreeDesign Studio is a Quark Xpress™ extension that links any Quark document to the content stored in your content management system. This dynamic link allows published content to be managed through a single tool and updated automatically through Quark XPress™ in published catalogs, directories, and other complex and design-rich publications.
- The content management system, CMSEditor, is an Oracle/Java/XML-based system featuring management of complex product information over the Internet via dynamic forms.
- Catalog-on-Demand is a 100% automated publishing system that allows the user to select content and render custom versions of web and print catalogs over the Internet. The system features a robust search engine and personalized templates for web, CD, and print publications.
Companies in many industries including automotive, chemical, hardware, MROP equipment and supplies and publishing are now using these tools. For more information, or to schedule a demonstration, please contact Gerry Cronin (gerry.cronin@webcomlink.com) or Marlin Doner (marlin.doner@webcomlink.com).
