GOLD AWARDS FOR PRINTING FOUR-COLOUR

Toronto, Ontario – November, 2006 – Webcom was a three time winner in this year's IAPHC International Gallery competition for excellence in printing. The recognition included two Gold awards for directories printed in 4-colour and an Honorable Mention for the unique design of The Spiral Garden novel published by McArthur & Company.

The International Association of Printing House Craftsmen received 2,100 entries world-wide. Those selected as winners are celebrated for outstanding achievement in art and science of printing and graphic arts as one of the industry's highest honours.

Designers of The Spiral Garden at McArthur & Company took advantage of Webcom's specialty FX Coatings to enhance the cover, creating an irresistible finished product.

Each of the Red Pages and the Sudbury Phone Directory are products of Webcom's coldest printing process – using 35 lb. environmental paper and 30 lb. Standard Newsprint, respectively. On a side note, the Red Media Corp., publisher of The Red Pages, was previously recognized for its use of environmentally friendly paper, receiving third-party certification and the right to use the EcoLogo from Environment Canada.

The cover of the Sudbury Phone Directory applied a combination of foil stamping and embossing. This was accomplished in a single step process rather than in two steps as a cost savings measure benefiting the publisher.
