Doing Business with Webcom - U.S. Customers
Some international borders can complicate business relationships,
but not the U.S./Canada border - not when you're dealing with Webcom.
We've been manufacturing books for our U.S. customers for over 20
years and today more than 30% of our business is done in the U.S.
Webcom is incorporated in the U.S. and has regional offices to
support our commitment to the U.S. market. You may still have some
questions but using Webcom to produce your next book will be hassle-free
because:
- Currency is no problem, and savings for you!
Your job will be quoted in U.S. dollars so there's no exchange
to worry about. Your price won't change, and the strong U.S. dollar
goes farther with a Canadian manufacturer.
- Tariffs? Forget them!
There are no duties or tariffs on books crossing the U.S. - Canada
border.
- We do the paperwork!
We take care of the small amount of paperwork required to process
your job through customs.
- Three little words
If your book is going to be sold in the U.S., customs regulations
stipulate that the words "Printed in Canada" must appear
on the copyright page of the book.
- Delivery to your door
Our prices include delivery to your premises.
- 24-hour service!
FTP file submission, e-mail, overnight courier and toll-free phone
service make it easy to work with Webcom.
- Close neighbors!
We're a lot closer than many people realize, with customers from
coast to coast in North America.
- Taxes
There are no taxes for you to worry about if all of the books
we manufacture for you are going to be delivered to the U.S. However,
if some of the books are being shipped by Webcom to a destination
in Canada, then you will be required to pay the 7% goods and services
tax (GST) on the value of those books.
In the same way, there is no provincial/state tax applicable unless
some of the books are going to be shipped from Webcom to a destination
in Ontario. Even then, most books are exempt from the tax except
for catalogs and directories which are going to be given to the
end user. In that case, the 8% Ontario Provincial Sales Tax (PST)
would be applied to the books.
